Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Preparation

Target Audience:        Teaching & Classroom Assistants, HLTAs

Date:                           Day 1 – Thursday 17th January 2019 9am-3.30pm                                                                                    Day 2 – Thursday 28th February 2019 9am-3.30pm

Cost:                            The cost of the two day preparation course is £290+VAT.

The cost of the school based assessment that takes place approximately 5-9 weeks after day 2 is £450. No VAT applies to the assessment fee.

Entry requirements:

All applicants must have:

•          Teaching assistant experience

•          Some experience of leading whole class learning with no teacher present

•          Level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English and must provide documentary evidence

How the programme is delivered:

•          2 face-to-face preparation sessions

•          Online support unit

•          Work- based activities

•          Written tasks

•          Completion of a portfolio to evidence 33 standards

•          3-hour assessed school visit
