Supporting healthy Relationships, a practical guide to supporting children’s understanding of domestic abuse from Reception to Year 13 – POST COVID.
This course explores children’s understanding of equality, healthy relationships , power and control. It begins in Reception with gender specific ideas children hold from a very early age linked to toys and the world of work. As they move through to upper KS2 they explore views of who has control in a relationship.
At Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 they look at the implications of the law and the part we all play in ensuring equality and developing healthy relationships. You will hear from survivors of domestic abuse, from an adult’s perspective and what it is like to have the lived experience from the child’s point of view. You will be signposted to resources and support, and a curriculum to support pupils from Year R to Year 13.
