Target Audience: KS2 Teaching & Support Staff

Dates: 12th June 2018  1.00pm – 4.00pm

Course Outline:

The current history curriculum requires children to explore the prehistoric period covering a time span of about 4 million years. This course will explore a range of different practical ways in which this can be done through examples of skeleton planning, resources and classroom activities and ideas including places to visit. We will explore background information for teachers on the stone, bronze and iron ages and then explore how this can be taught to different ages and abilities across key stage 2.

By the end of the course delegates will have a variety of skeleton plans to take away including ideas of how this topic can be linked to literacy, D&T and other curriculum areas; ideas for resourcing the work including literature, artefacts, IT and places to visit, and practical classroom ideas and resources to support the work in the classroom.
